Bhakti Point
This composition was inspired by the Hindu word "Bhakti", meaning the act of pure love
and devotion. Then I thought of an imaginary place to be called "Bhakti Point" -- a place
where all could come to gather for a magical, loving and sometimes surprising event.
Nightland
Resting for the night under a canopy of trees. A clear night sky, a balmy breeze and an
atmosphere that would almost be compared to an old Disney animated landscape. A campfire
is lit and I have a feeling that Stephen King is walking down the path to tell us a story.
A Book Upon the Crossroad
The setting for this composition is a barren region where crossroads meet. As you walk
closer to their meeting point, you see a book lying in the center. You go to pick it up.
It comes alive.
The Turn Again
A piece to acknowledge the cycle of life, rhythms in the body, rotation of the planet,
and the oscillation of the universe.
Reunion
There is something always special in time spent with old friends. Talking of the changes
within each others lives, as well as, reminiscing of times past. Always a celebrations,
always a feast and always feeling the love which originally brought us together.
Little Dreamer
A piece which came about by observing my wife taking an afternoon nap and our dog "Bamboo"
also in dreamland at her side. Just simply wondering where their dreams are taking them.
Willow Song
A theme made for days of relaxing on a hot summer afternoon under a willow tree. Secure and
content to drift away.
Closer Than Love
I wrote this composition after hearing of my grandmothers passing away. Remembering
how special she was to me when I was young and how her encouragment towards my desire
to create music will always stay with me. Thank you.

Reviews
If music is a language, then Richard Burmer is a storyteller of extraordinary fluency.
His musical journey to an imaginary paradise, Bhakti Point, evokes images of an exotic
world still wet with the dawn of creation. Some music transcends mere notes and rests,
just as the best stories are remembered long after the words are forgotten. Richard Burmer's
music leaves impressions on your memory, unforgettable images, visions transmitted in
another language.
